Come and enjoy live band performances in the open air this summer.  

Windsor, Eton & Ascot Town Centre Partnership presents Windsor’s Live at the Bandstand programme 2024.

There will be a series of musical performances each weekend between Saturday 15 June and Sunday 15 September 2024 at the bandstand in Alexandra Gardens.  

Performances will take place between 2pm and 4pm, unless otherwise stated.

Family, friends and music lovers are all invited to bring a picnic and enjoy some great music in Windsor’s Alexandra Gardens.

This event is free.

Chiltern Hills Brass Band
Chiltern Hills Brass is a friendly Brass Band based in Cressex near High Wycombe.  We are currently graded as First Section in the National Brass Band Registry.  At present the band has 22 members  and rehearses in High Wycombe, Bucks.

Second Wind Band
Second Wind is a fun and friendly adult (18+) wind band of over 40 players and is part of the Bracknell and Wokingham Community Band (BWCB) group.  We play a broad spectrum of music from toe-tapping light classics, swing, popular film and show tunes to contemporary and older pop songs, always with entertainment in mind for both audience and players.

Bourne Concert Band
The Bourne Concert Band is a community band with members coming from all walks of life. The band plays a wide range of music from all genres. Musical Director is Tom Greenhalf. The band celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

The Games Maker Choir
The Games Maker Choir is made up of sporting volunteers from The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics and those who continue to support the best of British sport.  We were formed at The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park by a young, volunteer Games Maker at London 2012 and have been performing for British sport at some of the biggest sporting events and venues ever since.
Performing contemporary repertoire, our aim is always to surprise and delight, and to provide a musical reminder of the fantastic sporting summer of 2012.  Our appearances include The World and Para World Athletics Championships, Rugby World Cup, BBC Sport Relief, Women’s Hockey World Cup, The Rugby League World Cup, England Rugby, the Aviva Premiership Rugby, The Queen's Baton Relay and The London Marathon to name just a few.  We are The Choir for Sport.

Chiltern Concert Band
The Chiltern Concert Band is a friendly, social group made up of musicians from the High Wycombe community who strive for the highest musical standards and have fun doing so. The band was founded in 1982 by John Davie for wind, brass and percussion instrumentalists beyond the school and college age who wished to play wind band music to a high standard. We are very fortunate to have an intrinsic link to the talented musicians from the Royal Air Force, with which the band has strong musical ties. The present conductor, Duncan Stubbs, ex-Principal Music Director of the RAF was appointed in September 2018 – though the conductor for this performance will be Chris I’Anson who is currently a Music Director within the RAF.

Waterloo Band & Bugles of the RIFLES
The Waterloo Band and Bugles of The Rifles is a band of The Army Reserves based at Edward Brooks Barracks in Abingdon.  All the musicians and buglers on parade are Reserve soldiers, loyally committed not only to the busy schedule of the Waterloo Band but holding down full-time jobs ranging from teachers, translators, psychologists, civil servants and train drivers, as well as juggling normal family commitments. The band draws its musicians and buglers from all over the South of England with some travelling from as far as Dorset, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire and London. The Waterloo Band & Bugles is one of the busiest (and one of the largest) Army Reserve bands, often fulfilling over 70 engagements a year. Overseas travel is always popular, and the band and bugles have been fortunate, travelling extensively, both home and abroad.The current Director of Music is Major Lawrence Sale

St Margarets Elastic Band
St Margarets Elastic Band is a wind band based in St Margarets near Twickenham.  We have over 30 members, 20-25 of whom meet to practise together every week.  We have been playing together since 2001. Our repertoire includes a mixture of songs from films, shows, jazz, swing, soul and classical music. We perform regularly at street markets, local fairs, Christmas concerts and other events.  We have also performed at Hampton Court Flower Show, Marble Hill House, Kew Gardens, and at international festivals in France and Germany.

The Sound Crowd
The Sound Crowd was established in 2010 and meets at The Old Court.  The group has an average weekly attendance of 30 singers (balanced mix of male/female).  New to group singing but fancy joining in? No fuss, just grab a glass and get singing a range of contemporary songs in harmony with no audition or music reading required.

Middlesex Yeomanry Concert
Middlesex Yeomanry Concert Band has its roots as the Band of the Duke of Cambridge’s Hussars (Cavalry). Former Cavalry Units are now Signals Squadrons and we became 47 (Middlesex Yeomanry) Signal Squadron TA.  With the reorganisation of the TA the band itself was disbanded but has kept its identity as a community band.  Some of the players have served with the RAF Central Band, including bandmaster, Michael Robinson, and a number with famous army bands.  The rest are civilians.  The current band is based in Teddington and gives regular concerts in Hampton Hill, with a mixture of concert overtures, music from the stage and screen and bandstand favourites.  Summer season venues include concerts in Kingston, Surrey;  Alexandra Park, Windsor and Regents Park, London with a light repertoire including favourites such as the Jungle Book, Broadway Melodies, the Teddy Bears Picnic and the Cuban dance rhythms of Mambo Jambo.

Burnham Concert Band
The Burnham Concert Band is a community wind band, we were founded in 1975 and are based in Burnham, Buckinghamshire.  The band consists of 30 to 40 woodwind and brass players, with additional percussion and string bass.  We share a love of making music and a determination to achieve the highest standard we can under the baton of our Music Director, currently Adrian Jasper.  We play a wide range of music to suit most tastes, from light classical to modern pop and of course, tunes from films and the shows.  We rehearse every week, and usually perform three formal concerts each year at Burnham Park Hall.  In addition, we play at garden fetes, local summer shows, on bandstands and at private- and charity-sponsored functions.  For the last two summers, we have enjoyed performing in both Beaconsfield and Burnham, in support of local initiatives to celebrate special events. Our summer concerts on the bandstand in Windsor’s Alexandra Gardens have become a regular fixture in our band calendar, we hope very much that you will join us and enjoy our music.

Sun    21-Jul-24      Chalfont Concert Wind BandChalfont Wind Band's aim is to encourage the interest of wind band musicians of any age and to give them plenty of experience of playing in public.  The Band presents two main concerts each year plus many other public engagements, particularly during the summer and Christmas periods.  It raises much money for local and national charities.  The Band is always on the look out for woodwind, brass and percussion players. of any standard as our Academy Band welcomes players returning to an instrument after a gap and both children and adults new to playing a wind instrument.

So many saxophones! Royal Harmonics
Under the direction of Sean Bui, we’re a 30-strong male chorus specialising in imaginatively staged and innovative performances of songs from across the spectrum of modern music. We bring our special brand of four-part harmony to pop, jazz/swing, barbershop, gospel, and songs from the shows. We were placed 5th out of 30 at the recent BABS (British Association of Barbershop Singers) Convention.

Woodley Concert Band
Woodley Concert Band is an award winning community band from Woodley, near Reading. This year the band is celebrating 50 years of music making! We have just over 45 musicians and play a wide variety of music such as film, musicals, jazz and pop, always with the aim of entertaining audiences. We give around fifteen concerts each year, in concert halls and at outdoor venues like this one. Along with our own concerts, many of our performances are by invitation to provide music for organised events and help local charities raise funds. Our 50th anniversary concert is on Saturday 19th October at the Harriet Walter Theatre, Reddam House School. It’s going to be a great celebration of music making.

Having performed alongside some BIG names already including Mica Paris, David Grant, Ellie Goulding, London Community Gospel Choir and Leona Lewis, they are on a mission to get Britain singing! Come and hear their pop, gospel, soul and inspirational songs that will leave you feeling happy and uplifted – you can even sing along!

"Reign" - Windsor Boys' School Old Boys
‘Reign’ are an exhilarating young cover band with a wide variety of song choices and genres ranging from Classic Rock, Brit Pop to Nineties Grunge and Heavy Metal - each and every rock fan is guaranteed to satisfied! The group met doing music GCSE, and have since played at Rock the Rec Festival (Windsor), Windsor and Eton Brewery, The Outlook (Reading), The Old Court (Windsor), The Acoustic Couch (Bracknell), and on The Long Walk (Windsor) in front of five thousand people for the King’s coronation.This young band from Windsor showcase a magnificent collection of rock n roll songs - full of free-spirit, this is a group no music lover can afford to miss!

SAXOPHONY is a saxophone  quartet based in Surrey. We play audience-friendly music, both old and new, and have played at various bandstands and events throughout South East England, from Berks to Essex, Hants to Surrey and E. Sussex.
